The ancient Lord of Misrule, the King of Saturnalia, presided over the Roman festival, the Feast of Fools, which often included drunkenness and wild partying, held in honor of Saturn, the god of agriculture and civilization.

The fire from the sacrificial pyre, commemorates the death and rebirth of nature, and transforms into torches to light the path to a new enlightened future.
