MUMMERS
During the Mummer Season NERD Island transforms into a New Years Comic Brigade. Murray Comic Club is our mother club.
The Murray Comic Club will make its 75th strut up Broad Street on January 1st, 2011. The club is under the leadership of Rich and Jessica Porco with the help of all the Officers and members of the club. Murray, the biggest comic club, competes against three other mother clubs in the comic division. For the past twelve years, Murray has won first place.

NERD Island’s first collaborative project was our Lord of Misrule performance in the 2010 Mummer’s Parade.We were dubbed a Social Networking Brigade by announcer Ron Goldwyn because of our reliance on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for communication and preparation.
